BudgetWise is a free, browser-based personal finance calculator. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect (very little), how we use it, and your rights.

No Personal Data Collected

BudgetWise does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal financial information. All calculations happen entirely in your browser. Specifically:

• Your income figures, expense amounts, and savings goals never leave your device.
• We do not have a database of user data.
• We do not require you to create an account or provide any personal details.
• No information is sent to our servers — we don't have any that receive your data.
• When you close or refresh the tab, all data is cleared (unless your browser caches it locally).

Cookies & Local Storage

BudgetWise does not use cookies to track you or store your data. Your browser may locally cache static files (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) purely for performance — this contains no personal data. We do not use any advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies.

Analytics

We may collect anonymised, aggregated usage data (such as page view counts) to understand general usage patterns and improve the tool. This data cannot be used to identify you, contains no financial figures you entered, and is not sold or shared with third parties for advertising.

Third-Party Services

BudgetWise loads fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser requests these fonts, Google may receive your IP address as part of the standard HTTP request. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for information on how they handle this data.

We do not embed any social media tracking pixels, advertising networks, or other third-party data collection services.

Not Financial Advice

BudgetWise is an educational tool only. The 50/30/20 rule is a general budgeting guideline — it is not financial advice tailored to your personal circumstances. Tax estimates are approximations and may not reflect your actual tax liability. Always consult a qualified financial adviser before making significant financial decisions.

Children's Privacy

BudgetWise is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided information through our service, please contact us and we will address the situation promptly.
